In FY20, the  Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund (CFF) invested $9.3 million in the planning and development of cultural buildings in Massachusetts.

A total of 94 cultural organizations statewide received grants to support projects in construction, restoration, and deferred maintenance. Grantees include community art centers, theaters, museums, libraries, nature conservatories and more.

At the end of each funding cycle, MassDevelopment and the Mass Cultural Council survey all grantees to assess the economic impact of the Fund on the Massachusetts creative economy. 207 cultural organizations reported back on tourism, employment, and their future capital needs over the next two years.

Many commented that without CFF, they would not have been able to leverage the necessary funding to maintain their spaces.

“The CFF has enabled both our organization and our small town to revitalize and grow dramatically. The economic impact of the project on our community has been very positive, something that wouldn’t be possible without the CFF,” said Robert Salerno, President of the West Stockbridge Historical Society.
