The mission of the Shirley Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and sciences in order to improve the quality of life for Shirley residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of our community.

Applications and supplemental materials should be submitted online.
Proposals are evaluated in terms of several considerations:
– Benefit to the community
– If the project applicant or project sponsor is located in Shirley. If not a letter from the sponsoring entity is required.
– Quality of the activity
– Evidence of planning (project dates, times, and venue secured)
– Qualifications of the individual(s) who will lead the activity
– Track record of the sponsoring group
