SpaceFinder Mass is like an Airbnb for cultural spaces. It’s a discovery tool for anyone looking to rent a creative space in Massachusetts.

Renters can find available, affordable, and alternative spaces for performances, rehearsals, readings, meetings, and more.

It’s a place where you can promote – at no-cost – the unbooked times of each of your organization’s spaces.

Today there are 607 cultural spaces on SpaceFinder Mass available to rent.

  • Looking for cultural space in Western Mass? There are 38 current listings available for rent in the Berkshires, and 63 in Pioneer Valley.
  • Statewide, there are 184 current postings for exhibition space.
  • 41 spaces for artist live-work space are currently available for rent.
  • On a budget? 70 cultural spaces are listed for $25 per hour or less.

Shire City Sanctuary in Pittsfield is a former cathedral with 5000 sq. ft. of open space, high ceilings and beautiful stained-glass windows. The space has hosted theater productions, film screenings, location shoots, conferences, dance parties, trade shows, sales events, and weddings.

SpaceFinder Mass was developed by Fractured Atlas, a nonprofit technology company serving artists, and is a project of the Arts & Business Council of Boston in partnership with the Mass Cultural Council.

Listing a rental space is easy:

  1. Sign up for a Fractured Atlas account.
  2. Complete your organization profile.
  3. Publish separate listings to promote each space available (e.g. studios, rooms, theatres)
  4. Click “Take Space Online” and Fractured Atlas will approve the listing usually within one business day.
