Cultural Facilities Fund 2018 Annual Report
In 2018, Cultural Facilities Fund (CFF) awarded $9.3 million to cultural organizations in Massachusetts to support the maintenance and development of buildings.
From Great Barrington to Truro—CFF grants support cultural organizations statewide every year. Community art centers, theaters, museums, libraries, nature conservatories, and beyond were recipients of capital and planning grants for facilities.
Last year, the Fund awarded grants to 81 cultural organizations for projects in construction, restoration, deferred maintenance, and more. Many grantees attest that without CFF, they would not have been able to source the funding necessary to maintain their buildings.
“The Cultural Facilities Fund strengthens our ability to leverage other funding for critical capital assessments and projects. Without its investment, we wouldn’t be able to successfully preserve our property that is listed on the National Register,” said Susan Grabski, Executive Director of the Lawrence History Center.
Together with MassDevelopment, we’ve put together a report to capture last year’s grantees and the capital needs of Massachusetts cultural organizations over the next two years. Take a look at the 2018 Annual Report to learn more about the economic impact of the Fund.
