Each month Mass Cultural Council shares a round-up of grants, trainings, technical assistance resources, and opportunities for cultural organizations (a companion to our Useful Links page). This list is not meant to be exhaustive but a glimpse of what is on offer in the coming weeks. (We also publish a weekly Artist Opportunities listing.)
Mass Cultural Council grant opportunities:
Metro Credit Union Foundation’s Invested In Our Communities grant program is open to nonprofit organizations with a mission or focus on community development, securing safe and affordable housing, financial wellness, and advancement. Deadline: Oct. 15, 2026.
Mass General Brigham has announced $6M in Mass General Brigham Community Health Impact Funds are available to support innovative, community-driven approaches that build healthier, more resilient communities. The funds are split evenly: $3M for Economic Stability and Mobility, and $3M for Mental and Behavioral Health. If you are a community-based nonprofit, municipality, or other organization serving Suffolk County (All neighborhoods of Boston, the City of Chelsea, the City of Revere and the Town of Winthrop), working to make a measurable difference on these drivers of community health, this is worth a look. Letter of Intent Deadline: Oct. 21, 2026.
Breva’s Thrive Grant offers $5,000 to provide catalytic funding to early‑stage and growing U.S. small businesses that are generating positive, measurable impact in their communities, with particular interest in those serving underrepresented or historically underserved areas. This quarter’s deadline: Oct. 31, 2026.
NBA Foundation grants are open to local and national organizations working with youth ages 14-24 that promote school-to-career opportunities, including job readiness, skill training, job placement, and career advancement. Deadline: Oct. 31, 2026.
Costume Society of America offers Small Museum Collection Care Grants to small museums, historical societys, historic house or sites, or other similar institutions with a costume collection and an overall annual operating budget of $300,000 or less. Deadline Nov. 1, 2026.
Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s Grants for Organizations provides $500-$10,000 for arts and cultural projects by eligible organizations in Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket counties. Deadline: Nov. 6, 2026.
Entreprenista’s $5,000 quarterly Evolve Grant supports women founders with funding for their next phase of growth. Deadline: Nov. 11, 2026.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services offers a wide range of grants available to museums and libraries of all sizes and specialties. Most grants have a deadline of Nov. 13, 2026.
Shophand’s $5k Small Business Boost Grant is awarded twice a year to give small business owners the support they need to overcome their biggest tech or operational challenge. Deadline: Nov. 30, 2026.
New England Foundation for the Art’s Public Art for Spatial Justice offers $15,000-$30,000 grants to MA-based artists and community-based organizations working with artists on public art projects rooted in community and place. Deadline: Dec. 1, 2026.
Build for Mass, the Commonwealth’s first general municipal infrastructure lending program, will provide municipalities with flexible, low-interest financing to address funding gaps, advance priority projects, and maximize access to federal resources.
MassCollab provides education, expertise and funding to foster strategic and long term collaborations amongst nonprofits in Massachusetts to increase their impact and sustainability. The grant process begins with confidential conversations with the Initiative Manager and the participating nonprofit organizations (contact information available on their website).
Eastern Bank Foundation provides community grants of up to $10,000 to eligible 501(c)3 nonprofits in Massachusetts to support local programs and community initiatives. Deadline: Rolling.
Join Massachusetts Office on Disability’s Community Access Monitor (CAM) Training on Oct. 15 and 22, 2026. This free, virtual training teaches participants how to survey buildings for accessibility and advocate for improved access in their communities.
Middlesex county-based arts and cultural organizations are invited to The Collective Action Resource Exchange’s free CARE Fair on Oct. 19, 2026 from 10am to 2pm in Maynard, MA. Ask yourself two questions – What do you have? What do you need? – and join hosts Think Outside the Vox and RoxFilm.
Register for New England Foundation for the Art’s Idea Swap on Oct. 29, 2026 in Worcester, MA. This is an annual event for New England-based nonprofit cultural organizations to network and share performing arts, literary arts, and film projects that are available for presentation in New England communities. Develop collaborations that will result in applications to NEFA’s Crossroads: Touring New England grant program.
Massachusetts College of Art and Design’s Collective Works: Creative Entrepreneurship Summit (Nov. 7, 2026 from 10am-4pm) brings together creative entrepreneurs from every discipline across Massachusetts for one day of candid conversations about what it really takes to thrive in today’s creative economy. Come exchange ideas with fellow creators, gain practical strategies from seasoned entrepreneurs, and connect with key support organizations at our resource fair. Tickets: $25 General Admission, $10 Student.
Creating Abundance Collaborative’s Creative Economy Pathways Virtual Town Hall Series explores how Creative Youth Development is expanding career pathways for young people through arts-based experiences and youth leadership. The series brings together local and national voices for monthly conversations on the future of work, creativity, and opportunity. Who should attend? Creative Youth Development leaders and practitioners, teaching artists, workforce development professionals, employers and industry partners, funders, researchers, policymakers, and young adults interested in creative careers.
Join Mass Cultural Council and the ArtStaysHere Coalition for a new Creative Space Development Network Accelerator (DNA) online discussion for those who are developing, operating, and advocating for a healthier creative space ecosystem across the state. Oct. 30, 2026 at 12pm.

Help shape the future leadership of Mass Cultural Council: Complete our survey by Oct. 6, 2026.
Sphinx LEAD is a two-year leadership program designed to empower the next generation of executive leaders. Sphinx LEAD transforms lives through empowerment, networking, collective learning, and addressing the systemic obstacles within Black and Latino communities. A cohort of arts leaders is selected annually to participate in a comprehensive curriculum that includes leadership retreats at top institutions nationwide. Deadline: Oct. 20, 2026.
National Guild for Community Arts Education is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Community Arts Education Leadership Institute (CAELI) program. This national hybrid cohort is focused on executive-level leaders navigating change and uncertainty, with virtual learning, coaching, peer connection, and a culminating in-person retreat in Summer 2027. Deadline: Nov. 4, 2026.
