The Cultural Facilities Fund (CFF) application is now open for 501(c)(3) organizations, municipalities, and colleges with cultural buildings in Massachusetts.

The formal approval this round’s program guidelines is anticipated from the MassDevelopment board – Mass Cultural Council’s partner in administering the Fund – on October 22, 2025 at their next meeting.

Approximately $8 million will be available in this round to support the planning and construction of cultural facilities.

501(c)(3)s that are primarily concerned with the arts, humanities, and/or sciences are eligible to apply. Cities, towns, and colleges that own or operate cultural facilities serving the public are also eligible.

Three types of grants are available through CFF, each requiring a 1:1 match:

  • Capital grants of up to $200,000 may support acquisition, renovation, repairs, fixed/integrated equipment, and new construction projects.
  • Feasibility & Technical Assistance grants of up to $35,000 are available for analysis, design, and feasibility studies that relate to a cultural facility.
  • Systems Replacement Plan grants of up to $14,000 will provide small to mid-sized organizations that own their facilities a capital needs assessment of their facility.

To learn more about the Cultural Facilities Fund application and guidelines, sign up for the virtual information session on October 20, 2025 or drop into staff office hours, occurring every week until the deadline.

The application deadline is December 11, 2025.
