Mass Cultural Council, in partnership with the Mass Save program, is hosting a webinar on December 6, 2022 at 2pm to highlight Mass Save’s resources for cultural facilities. The Mass Save program is administered by the Commonwealth’s electric and gas utility companies.
Mass Save will present on incentives for weatherization, electrification, and energy efficiency. Resources will be discussed for planning and technical assistance, solutions for your facility, eligible equipment rebates (including heat pumps and hot water heaters), and additional program offerings for controls and Demand Response. They will also include examples of resources they’ve provided to museums, theaters, art centers, and historic sites across the state.
This webinar is part of a series hosted by Mass Cultural Council’s Cultural Facilities Fund staff to encourage a reduction of carbon emissions in the cultural sector. The Cultural Facilities Fund – managed in collaboration by Mass Cultural Council and MassDevelopment – is a financial resource that can be used to plan for and implement environmentally sustainable building practices and systems. Applications are now being accepted for the FY23 CFF grant round.
“Paths to Decarbonization”, the first webinar in the series, was held on November 2, 2022. In this session, practices and technologies to reduce a building’s energy load, electrifying systems, and generating power on site were discussed by New Ecology. Brief presentations were also made by Historic Northampton, New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, and Bruner/Cott Architects for the Huntington Theatre in Boston and Mass MoCA in North Adams. Watch the recording of this session or view the presentation slide deck.
At any time, you can reach out to the Cultural Facilities Fund staff with questions about these webinars or the grants.
