Yo Soy Grechel

Yo Soy Grechel is a continuous exploration of the self, my cultural identity, and
resistance through artmaking. Through printmaking, and various other artistic
mediums, I navigate the intersections of personal and collective histories,
constructing visual narratives that reflect the ever-evolving nature of existence.

Rooted in introspection and cultural storytelling, my practice engages with
themes of transformation, displacement, and belonging. I draw inspiration from
familial archives, personal experiences, and the subconscious, allowing layers of
color, line, and form to evoke both presence and absence. Each piece is a
dialogue—between myself, the artist and the viewer, asking them to consider
their relationship with the self and their positioning in this world.

Yo Soy Grechel is not just a declaration; it is a process, an unfolding of selfhood
through mark-making. It is a space where nostalgia meets reinvention, where the
act of creation becomes an act of self-affirmation. I embrace imperfection, fluidity,
