Wendy James

I am an oil painter with a strong interest in color. My subject matter includes urban landscapes, montages, historic references, and figures engaged in everyday activities. I hope to entice the viewer to see the usual as a new color flavor.

I also create black and white surreal photomontages. These digital images originate from my original photos. Unlikes are combined in Photoshop, often positioning a figure in a dreamscape where scale and viewpoint are altered.

I also create sculptures, wall reliefs and pottery in clay.

I reside at Western Avenue Lofts in Lowell with my artist husband, John Brickels. We share studio 207 at Western Avenue. Our studio is open the first Saturday of most months and upon request.
