I’m Red—a freelance photographer and visual creative based in East Boston, MA. With over 15 years behind the camera, I specialize in creative portraits, live music photography, grassroots photojournalism, inclusive wedding photography, and event coverage. My work celebrates inclusivity and authenticity, all about capturing moments that feel alive—authentic, artistic, and uniquely you.

Photography has been my anchor in an ever-changing world. I taught myself the ropes in high school, earning a scholarship to Parsons in NYC and documenting pivotal movements like Occupy Wall Street. Life had other plans—I returned to Boston after a year to care for my family. This journey, balancing bartending in Irish pubs, building my craft, and finishing my degree at UMass Boston, has shaped my perspective and my work. In October 2023, I took a leap of faith. I launched my freelance photography business, finally dedicating myself to what I truly love: creating images that let people pause, reflect, and live inside a moment.

Photography is a collaborative journey—a chance to create something honest and meaningful together. As a queer and gender-nonconforming artist, my work reflects my own journey of self-discovery. I’ve dedicated much of my craft to exploring and bending traditional gender binaries, helping others—especially queer folks—see themselves authentically in front of the camera. Whether I’m capturing the electricity of a live show, the intimacy of a wedding, or the personality of a portrait, I approach every project with a commitment to inclusivity, vulnerability, heart, and a passion for collaboration.

My deep love for Boston, its vibrant culture, and the communities I call home infuses my work with a unique local perspective. This love for my city and its people is a driving force behind my photography. Outside of photography, you’ll probably find me crocheting (I can make almost anything!) or cheering—and sometimes yelling—at the Red Sox. I live in East Boston with my partner of 10 years and our little black cat, who loves supervising my editing marathons.

Photography is my way of giving people the space to step inside a moment and stay there for as long as they need.
