As a painter, my work is steeped in the Impressionist Tradtion, although I have found strength in my artistic voice that differs now from Impressionism, it is through my love of this type of painting from which I have developed my own techniques. I studied at L’Ecole Des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France and at The Art Insittute of Boston, as well as with many wonderful painters such as Lois Griffel of The Cape Cod School of Art in Provincetown, MA, Janice Fish in NYC, Jason Berger in Boston, and Wolf Kahn in Santa Fe, NM.
A long time landscape painter, in the last few years I have concentrated on more abstraction. A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, my water imagery seemed a natural jumping off point for me to lean in this direction. My recent paintings seen on my website reflect the excitement and expansiveness of this new direction.
I am an exhibiting artist having had many solo, group and juried shows over many years. I continue to look for venues, galleries and other artists with whom to collaborate with. I am a part of the SoWa Boston Community and take part in 450 Harrison Ave’s First Friday Open Studios, 2nd Sundays and many other special events.
After teaching most of my life, I now take small, intimate groups of artists to Tuscany and to Santa Fe to paint with me once a year. Information on these Artists Trips can be found on my website under Workshops.
