Katrina Boemig

Katrina Boemig was born during a blizzard in Brattleboro, Vermont. She has lived and worked in the New York City Region as well as Portland, OR, London, UK, Buffalo NY and Vermont.

Her projects include video documenting interviews in China, collecting the oral histories of senior citizens all over the Northeast United States, photodocumenting large scale civil engineering developments, and creating epic environments for play.

Exhibitions of her work include The Today Museum in Beijing, China, Nuit Blanche in Toronto, Canada and Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar, Germany. As well as National exhibitions at The Wassaic Project, The Flying Object, The Invisible Dog, DUMBO open studios and at Hallwalls’ Artist and Models.

She has been awarded a fellowship residency at The Wassaic Project, A residency with Signal Fire and received a New York State GSEU Professional Development Award, As well as an Academy of American Poets Prize.

Katrina has taught photography courses at The University at Buffalo, SUNY and Niagara University. She received a BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute and a Masters of Visual Studies at the University at Buffalo, SUNY. In addition Katrina studied print media at Central Saint Martins in London, UK and executed a collaborative residency at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China.

In addition to her creative projects Katrina is currently The Creative Producer & Studio Manager at Isenberg Projects.
