I am a ceramic sculptor known for Organic Abstraction. My process is informed by the growth and evolution of living things. Studying Industrial Design at the California College of Art in San Francisco I refined my sculptural sensibilities. During this time my organic fire hydrant piece “Prometheus” was featured in a show of student work at The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. My Post-Baccalaureate degree is from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. I have lived and exhibited in San Francisco, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Boston.. Recently my piece “Lichen” was chosen for the Museum of Fine Arts Summer Party Auction.
I have been a guest speaker at gallery shows and high school assemblies. In 2011 I was a awarded a MCC grant and along with a collaborator created an outdoor sculpture garden of large scale animals out of bittersweet vines at Felix Neck Audon Center. I was awarded a grant from the Martha’s Vineyard Collective of Visual Arts for my piece Forest Floor – a large scale ceramic environment which I installed with the students at Stonehill college as part of a Visionary Vistas, the show for their curating class. I received an A.R.T. grant from The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation for my SEEDS series which I will show this February at Maynard ArtSpace.
