E. Paul Oberlander

Paul passionately explores the intersections of art and science. His conceptual capabilities and technical skills bring to life what cannot be captured with a camera. With a BFA in illustration and painting, his exceptional observational skills are displayed in the details of his work. Working for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for 30 years, he made his mark with award winning illustrations for both educational . Paul’s work can also be found on the walls of Sant Ocean Hall at the Smithsonian, the MIT Museum, the Museum of Science in Boston and the Woods Hole Aquarium. Today, working in his own studio he is carrying on with what he knows and loves to do. Bring him your cocktail napkin with a “chicken scratch” sketch and he will transform it into a comprehensive illustration that communicates to your audience.
