Dara Cheek

Dara Cheek is a Boston-based jewelry-artist, sculptor, and graphic artist.  She has been a student of the visual arts for more than twenty years, studying at the Museum of Fine Arts, the University of Arizona, the New England Institute of Art, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and others.  Her primary artistic materials are metal, glass and clay, but she utilizes many media to explore artistic concepts.

  Dara explores themes of nature, the human body, and the volatile feminine image in society in her work, and seeks to create pieces that challenge standard expectations for sculpture and jewelry, while maintaining esthetic beauty.  Her work has won international design awards and been featured in several publications.  She participates in craft shows and fairs around New England selling her work, and her jewelry can be purchased online from http://www.Hieropice.com.
