Artist Statement –  Large colorful oil paintings are my focus. To learn technique, my beginning exploratory works have copied impressionist and cubist masters who inspire me. My goal is to use these beginning works to shape an emerging individual body of work. I love painting because it’s a way for me to show how I see. Each painting is an interpretation in symbol and image that is wholly unique and conveys the artist’s feelings to the viewer. When I read or hear a viewer’s comments about artwork that surprises and inspires them, I think, that is what I’m aiming for. To hopefully someday create work which in its beauty and mastery will leave the viewer with a lasting impression of wonder.
