Bethany Schlegel Shaw is an artist living and working in Boston’s Metrowest. In her personal work, she screen prints, draws, works in watercolor, as well with found and collage material. Recent illustration work has taken her to drawing and using scanned materials on the iPad. She thinks art should be accessible to all and so many of her pro bono logos are sprinkled in Metrowest Boston for a number of non-profits, she tries to keep her own work affordable, has left art in community spaces to be found and taken by the unsuspecting, and her ultimate “art-for-all” goal is to illustrate and publish a book to land on library shelves.
Outside of her solitary time creating in the studio, Bethany has a passion for community art. She loves involving those who define themselves as artists as well as those who *think* they aren’t artistic in projects in both a large public scale or a smaller, more private, personal scale.
She is a member of the Sudbury Art Association as well as the Sudbury Cultural Council.
She lives in Sudbury with her husband and two daughters.
