I have a deep need for a connection to Mother Earth and nature as much as a need for the aesthetics of the forms and colors that nature offers us. Pottery has been the answer to my search to feel the magic of that connection to transform that energy into objects and offer it to others. I enjoy investigating, making, questioning, and experimenting with new ideas; my journey of that curiosity usually starts with the “what if”, and takes me to all new places. I am lately playing with the idea of mixing clay with other elements, like wood, stones, and potentially wool.
I live in Merrimac MA, the forest behind my home inspires me in my home studio. We live in times where the speed, in my opinion, is maddening us. I take refuge from that madness by making art, I slow down and try to live in the moment. I create both hand-built and on the wheel, depending on what is inspiring me that day! That way, I hope to stay in the present. I hope to evoke that same feeling of being in the moment, belonging to this planet to you with the pieces I make.
