Anne Plaisance

Curious and enthusiastic, she enjoys the freedom of working in various media (collages, sketches, watercolours, paintings in oil on canvas, sculptures, installations, pieces of writing, travel diaries, photography and video), as well as the freedom of choosing the subject-matter of her works (women and society, memories, criticism of the consumerist society, etc.). She has taken part in more than fifty exhibitions in Europe (France, Germany, Poland, etc..).

The undeniable aesthetic qualities of her artworks are contrasted with the brutality of the message they convey, thus confusing and questioning the viewer (e.g. In Memoriam, The Tears Collection, The Draft, The Maison Close Sketch Diary). Her art is like an iron fist in a velvet glove.

Her works can be found in the Brooklyn Art Library (NY), but also in private collections in France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Belgium, and Poland, among others.
