Amanda Hill

Amanda Hill is a multimedia artist and muralist living and working in Greater Boston. Much of Hill’s work is rooted in the exploration of what many considered to be commonplace. She often reimagines objects, images, and narratives that are underrepresented.

Hill takes a special interest in a community’s ability to make and experience art, as such she regularly designs, consults, and coordinates mural and placemaking, placekeeping, and public art projects. She specializes in empowering, honoring, and strengthening communities through the art—whether this is through her own mural-work or championing others.

In January of 2019, she was awarded the Boston Museum of Fine Arts’ Emerging Studio Artist Fellowship. Amanda has also been awarded grants to complete her work from a variety of Massachusetts Cultural Councils. She received a BA from Smith College (Northampton, MA), and an MS in Nonprofit Management from The New School, Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy (New York, NY).
