The Winchendon Cultural Council meets every third Wednesday of the month. In the fall we review and award grants to programs town-wide. We encourage the larger community to attend these wonderful local programs, all of which are free or low-cost.

FY27 Allocation
$13,400
FY27 Local Priorities
This year the Winchendon Cultural Council will give priority to:
• Applicants that have secured a venue in Winchendon
• Projects that serve youth 18 and under, and/or our elder citizens
• Projects that serve those with special needs
• Applications from LGBTQ+ organizations and organizations that center around BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals and communities
• Projects that make use of our many historical buildings
• Live, in-person events
• Projects that spark innovation and creativity
These priorities help applicants understand the types of community impact we are particularly interested in supporting. Please note an application does not necessarily have to check every one of these boxes to be considered.
FY27 Local Guidelines
The Winchendon Cultural Council supports elevating our rich cultural life in Winchendon. We want to amplify creativity, expand relationships, and maintain and grow a thriving creative and cultural community in our town. Our funding priorities are shaped by what we see and hear from the community, including attending events, hearing feedback, and identifying where programs can have the greatest impact.
In addition to the state criteria, applications will be evaluated using the following review criteria:
• How well the program meets our local priorities
• Community support and involvement
• Evidence of track record and dedication of the applicant
• Ability to address the diverse cultural needs of the community’s underserved populations or support diverse forms of cultural activities
• Demonstrated planning (tentative date and venue booked, letters of recommendation from venue and others involved in the project)
Please note: Grant funds may *not be used for capital expenditures (acquiring or maintaining fixed assets, such as land, buildings, and equipment.)
