The Williamsburg Cultural Council’s mission is to distribute our grant funds around the community and beyond. Our aim is to support the arts and interpretive sciences that the community wants to hear and see.

FY22 Local Priorities
Williamsburg Cultural Council (WCC) supports projects that:
Are well-designed, demonstrate past success in completion of projects, provide a realistic budget, and have a clear alternative plan for COVID-safety.
Provides a clear benefit to Williamsburg residents, in close proximity to Williamsburg and accessible to Williamsburg residents, and is inclusive and reflective of cultural diversity.
Reflect a wide range of projects, including projects in diverse disciplines that reach residents of various ages and demographics.
Williamsburg Cultural Council (WCC) welcomes projects that:
Provide opportunities for multi-generational interactions, partnerships between two or more organizations, interdisciplinary or integrated projects (arts, humanities, sciences), environmental education/sustainability, and projects that build community participation.
All applicants must submit their proposal via the online application form found in the “Apply Now” tab.
Applicants are required to submit one set of supporting materials. That may include: DVDs, resume, publicity material, critical reviews, photos, and/or printed materials. If you are mailing materials to us, please indicate that in your online application, and include your application ID with your materials so that we can match them to your application. Our mailing address is found under the “Council Information” tab.
Letters of support/commitment from sponsoring organizations are strongly encouraged.
If an applicant states that they will be working with or for another person, organization, or conducting the project in a specific facility, a letter of commitment or agreement from the individual/organization/facility’s representative must be submitted with the application.
All applicants proposing to work in the Williamsburg public school system must contact and receive approval from the school principal.
The Williamsburg Cultural Council must be notified two weeks prior to the commencement of funded projects.
FY22 Local Guidelines
All applicants must submit their proposal on an official application form.
Blank applications are available on the Massachusetts Cultural Web site or hard copies are at the Town Clerk’s Office or Meekins Library usually by September.
Applicants are required to submit one set of supporting materials. That may include CDs, resume, publicity material, critical reviews, photos, printed materials. Letters of support/commitment from sponsoring organizations are strongly encouraged.
If an applicant states that they will be working with or for another person, organization, or conducting the project in a specific facility, a letter of commitment or agreement from the individual/organization/facility’s representative must be submitted with the application. All applicants proposing to work in the Williamsburg public school system must contact and receive approval from the school principal.
Projects must be completed within one year of the date of the letter that notifies the recipient of their grant award that has been approved locally and by the state.
Events/activities must be held in physically accessible facilities.
The Williamsburg Cultural Council must be notified two weeks prior to the commencement of funded projects.
Reimbursement forms must have supporting documentation attached that includes:
program from event, flyer from event, press release or advertisement, invoice (if applicable), copy of cancelled check (if applicable), receipts (if applicable).
