FY23 Local Priorities
The Westhampton Cultural Council (“WCC”) invites artists, musicians, and performers to consider submitting an application for a local cultural council grant.
The WCC has traditionally funded a variety of programs in the arts, sciences and humanities, with a focus an interest in supporting established venues or events. The WCC has also provided funding for classes, presentations or performances that happen in and near Westhampton, and benefit Westhampton residents of all ages. Letters of support from hosting or collaborating institutions, where applicable, are an essential part of any successful application. Events and programs should be fully open and accessible to all, without restriction or limitation. If in a facility, the facility must be fully ADA compliant and accessible. Special consideration will be made for events intended to broaden cultural and social awareness, expand and raise awareness of new or traditionally underrepresented peoples, ideas, or opinions, and positively explore the culture, environment, activity and community of Westhampton.
Funded programs over the past few years have been largely in-person events (mostly held outside). However, applicants should state clearly how they intend to respect public health issues related to gatherings, and (as applicable) provide a secondary venue or presentation option should the need arise.
Questions? Contact Julie Held or Sheila Marks through the Westhampton Town Hall at 413-203-3086.
