FY22 Local Priorities
The Southbridge Cultural Council priorities for new applications include (with no order of importance) the following categories:
Southbridge applicants (individuals), artists, performers, private non-profit organization, schools, library, and religious groups. Please read requirements of MCC and especially the Southbridge criteria for compliance.
Applicants from other parts of the state are also considered with the same criteria requirements of MCC and especially that of Southbridge for compliance
New applicants, art forms and humanities under represented, and projects interested in promoting cultural diversity in the community are considered.and must follow MCC and especially the Southbridge criteria. Please read both for compliance understanding before completing the MCC online application.
Location and venue
The activity must take place in Southbridge.
The VENUE and DATE must be confirmed BEFORE submission of the online application to MCC, Boston, MA.
The event must be OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC and be handicapped accessible.
A change of venue / or date of event requires a job modification letter to the SCC for approval by the Southbridge Cultural Council before the event /performance takes place.
Marketing and Promotion
The event must be promoted according to the criteria rules of the MCC and SCC. Refer to the grant acceptance letter when received in January 2022 and refer also to the MCC website on Contract/Requirements for specifics and the Southbridge criteria as well which is different in some areas from the MCC criteria. ANY and ALL promoted / published materials must recognize the Southbtidge Cultural Council support and the Massachusetts Cultural Council as well.
ALL published copies of publicity before the event must be submitted at reimbursement. (ALL NEWS RELEASES – especially to the Southbridge News – Editor, P.O. Box 90 (25 Elm St.}, Southbridge, MA 01550 (for effectiveness it should be mailed at least 2 weeks prior of event) The News is a once a week issue on every Thursday. SOCIAL MEDIA COPIES, FLYERS, PROGRAMS,TICKETS, ETC. also must be submitted. with the reimbursement form. The individual in charge of the event publicity MUST be made aware of the required written criteria of the MCC and SCC for compliance to receive the grant funding
Reimbursement
This SCC does not participate in Direct Grant Reimbursement. All reimbursement forms with the required criteria documentation must be sent to the mailing address on the grant acceptance letter . (Southbridge Cultural Council, Southbridge Town Hall, 41 Elm St., Southbridge, MA 01550).
The reimbursement form with all documented PUBLISHED materials must be submitted no later than one year from the grant acceptance letter of January 2022. Grants are processed as usual only after the event / performance takes place, and the payment itself may take 3 to 4 weeks for processing.
Application procedures
For the FY2022 grant cycle, grant applications opens electronically to MCC on September 1, 2021. Before applying, all applicants must review the online MCC Contract/Requirements – Guidelines and also the Southbridge Criteria . The deadline date for applications for 2022 is Saturday, October 15, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. with no exceptions as per MCC..
The SCC does not accept paper applications. Field trip applications use the standard online MCC applications and must meet the criteria of MCC and SCC. For Field Trips, the SCC funds with discretion only the student admission portion and requires the same criteria as regular applications.
