Oakham Cultural Council
The Oakham Cultural Council exists to promote cultural activities in the Oakham community. Each year, OCC grants support a variety of experiences in the arts, sciences, and humanities that engage residents of all ages – from pre-school children to elders – in the worlds of the visual arts, crafts, music, and literature. Organizations, schools, and individuals receiving grants from the OCC bring to the town a wide range of experiences, from workshops and lecture-demonstrations to live artistic performances. The OCC also supports arts-related field trips to outside venues.
The OCC’s over-arching mission is to enrich the quality of life for residents of our area through making the arts accessible to all.

FY22 Local Priorities
The Oakham Cultural Council is particularly focused on making it possible for children of all ages, adults, and elders to experience the arts in a lively and participatory way in their own community. To that end, the Council works closely with local organizations, such as the Fobes Memorial Library, the Oakham Council on Aging, and the Oakham Historical Association, to bring the most relevant, interesting and timely programs possible to town residents. This approach has made OCC events successful both in quality and in popularity.
