FY22 Local Priorities
The Norwood Cultural Council gathered input from the community and developed funding priorities based on this feedback. This year the Norwood Cultural Council will give priority to:
– Public and/or school programming that encourages sharing and understanding of
Norwood’s cultural diversity
– Projects Focusing on Public Art
– Efforts that support Norwood resident artists
– New applicants and/or for new projects and programming
In addition to the state criteria, applications will be evaluated using the following review criteria:
– Free or low-cost entry for residents of Norwood
– Financial need of applicant
– Held within the town of Norwood and/or benefit residents of Norwood
– How well the program meets our local priorities
– Demonstrated planning and thorough completion of application
FY22 Local Guidelines
The Norwood Cultural Council strives to support: (1) Individuals and organizations from Norwood; (2) Individual artists working in Norwood; (3) Individual artists working in conjunction with the schools; and (4) New applicants with new projects and new ideas. Further, we urge individuals and organizations that are not locally based to work with a local partner to schedule events and to secure matching funds. Planning is a critical factor in our decision to award grants and local partnership demonstrates planning. Events scheduled with definite dates also demonstrates planning and a commitment to our community. Securing matching funds, especially when working with the schools, means that scarce funds can serve more people.
