FY23 Local Priorities
Marlborough CC Priorities 2022
The first priority of this Council is to bring the maximum benefit to the largest number of Marlborough residents as possible, and first consideration is given to Marlborough artists and organizations.
The Council also prioritizes proposals that
• Expand access, improve education, promote diversity, and encourage excellence in the arts, humanities, and sciences;
• Are well-researched and documented, with a clear and complete plan for execution, including information about sponsors, funding sources, project location, audience, dates, and cost involved;
• Demonstrate the willingness to present new and innovative programs as well as maintaining existing programs;
• Do not rely solely on Marlborough LCC funding;
• Include logistics to ensure the safety of all involved;
• Demonstrate a plan to document, record, photograph, or otherwise make the project accessible to a virtual audience
To be considered by the Council, the applicant must not have an outstanding Cultural Council grant with the same proposal of programming.
The Marlborough Cultural Council will only accept online applications. Assistance in preparing applications is available by emailing the Chair of the Cultural Council at marlboroughculturalcouncil@gmail.com.
The Marlborough Cultural Council uses Guidelines established by the Massachusetts Cultural Council on all other issues.

Funding
Payments are made on a reimbursement basis only. Reimbursements generally take 8 to 10 weeks. Applicants submit a reimbursement form, copies of program materials, receipts, and a brief final narrative report as part of their payment request. Projects and payment requests need to be completed within one year of the final award notification and reimbursement will not be made until the project is completed. Failure to meet that deadline will result in the loss of funds. If you need additional time to complete your project, your request for an extension must be made in writing, explaining the need for additional time. Also, major project modifications must be requested in writing, and should not significantly alter the original purpose of the approved application. Extension and modification requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not automatically granted.
You are required to acknowledge the financial support of the Marlborough Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council in published materials and announcements about your project. Please carefully review the guidelines regarding credit and publicity requirements on the MCC website.
