Marblehead Cultural Council
What We Do
The Marblehead Cultural council is one of 329 local organizations that are funded directly from the Massachusetts Cultural council to support community cultural, artistic, scientific and historical activities.
Board members are appointed by the Board of Selectmen. We encourage local residents to submit applications which we review each fall and award grants. We also maintain the Marblehead Cultural Calendar, an online listing of arts and cultural events at www.marbleheadculturalcouncil.org.
The Cultural Council meets at the Marblehead Community Center, 10 Humphrey Street. Meetings are scheduled throughout the year based on need.

FY23 Local Priorities
The Marblehead Cultural Council Priorities are based on our Community Input Survey, community interviews, feedback and state guidelines. These results have indicated a focus to fund and support projects and development of local artists and cultural programs; historical, environmental and science education; arts in schools, community events and public performances.
FY23 Local Guidelines
-All projects that receive funding from the Marblehead Cultural Council must have a Marblehead location, benefit Marblehead residents, and be accessible to the general public.
-The MCC has voted to place emphasis on new, emerging and established artists and programs in local venues as well as culturally and racially diverse programming.
-Programs that have received MCC funding for multiple years may have a lower funding priority in the future so that we may consider new applications. All funding grants are limited.
-Each MCC funded project must be completed within the calendar year of the grant with funding expiring on December 31st of the grant year.
-All grants made by The Marblehead Cultural Council are reimbursement-based. If you are awarded a grant, you will be required to submit a final report and supporting documentation to the Marblehead Cultural Council upon completion of your program
-The Marblehead Cultural Council can only accept online applications.
