We provide funds to artists, writers, performers, and instructors who wish to engage Granby residents of all ages.

FY27 Local Priorities
The Granby Cultural Council seeks to support diverse, original, and engaging arts and cultural programming that brings people together and contributes to a vibrant, creative community in Granby, Massachusetts.
We provide funding to artists, writers, performers, educators, cultural organizations, and other creative individuals who want to engage Granby residents of all ages. We especially encourage proposals that introduce new voices, perspectives, art forms, cultural experiences, and creative ideas to our community. We welcome both established programs and imaginative new approaches that offer Granby residents opportunities they might not otherwise experience locally.
The Granby Cultural Council has approximately $7,500 to distribute in support of local arts and cultural projects this year. Funding decisions will be guided by our priorities of community engagement, local artists and voices, youth and education, accessibility and inclusion, and creativity and originality.

Priorities
Funding decisions will be guided by the following priorities:
Community Engagement – Programs that bring Granby residents together, particularly intergenerational experiences such as concerts, public art projects, performances, workshops, and cultural festivals.
Diverse & Original Programming – We strongly encourage fresh ideas and programming that expands the variety of arts and cultural experiences available in Granby. Priority may be given to proposals that introduce different artistic styles, cultural traditions, perspectives, voices, or experiences and add something distinctive to our existing community programming.
Local Artists & Voices – Opportunities for Granby-based artists, performers, writers, educators, and other creators to share their work with the community.
Youth & Education – Programs that actively engage young people, including in-school residencies, library workshops, hands-on learning experiences, and student-centered showcases.
Accessibility & Inclusion – Programs that are free or low-cost, accessible to people with disabilities, and designed to welcome a broad range of Granby residents.
Creativity & Innovation – Imaginative, interactive, or unexpected approaches to arts and culture, including participatory projects, technology-based experiences, and playful community-wide initiatives. We encourage applicants to think beyond traditional programming and propose experiences that feel new, distinctive, and memorable.
FY27 Local Guidelines
***Applicants are responsible for identifying a venue and obtaining permission from that venue BEFORE applying for a grant. The Granby Cultural Council does not secure or guarantee venues for funded projects.***
Funding Ranges
Grants will typically range from $150 to $1,000, depending on the scope and impact of the project. Projects that serve a broad audience or involve multiple community partners may be considered for higher awards. Applicants are encouraged to seek additional funding sources if their project requires more than our maximum award.
Eligible Projects
We welcome proposals that meet one or more of the Council’s stated priorities above.
Ineligible Expenses
• Projects outside of Granby with no clear benefit to Granby residents.
• Scholarships, general operating support, or requests for purely administrative costs.
• Fundraising events or receptions.
Applicant Expectations
Applicants are responsible for identifying a venue and obtaining permission from that venue BEFORE applying for a grant. The Granby Cultural Council does not secure or guarantee venues for funded projects.
The following Granby venues are provided only as possible options to assist applicants. Applicants must contact the venue directly to confirm availability, obtain permission, and determine any applicable fees before submitting their application. Inclusion on this list does not guarantee availability or approval.

Church of Christ Congregational (Granby Common) – $100 fee; 413-467-9742.

Granby High School – Facilities Rental Application required.
Kellogg Hall – Contact the Granby Preservation Society.

Applicants should clearly describe how their project meets one or more of the Council’s priorities.
Funded projects must acknowledge support from the Granby Cultural Council and Mass Cultural Council in publicity and promotional materials.
Required forms must be submitted to the Granby Cultural Council at the conclusion of each funded project for reimbursement.
