FY26 Local Priorities

The Granby Cultural Council seeks to provide quality cultural programming in order to nurture cultural diversity and provide ideal conditions for a vibrant, creative economy in our town of Granby, Massachusetts. We provide funds to artists, writers, performers, and instructors who wish to engage Granby residents of all ages.

The Granby Cultural Council has approximately $7,500 to distribute in support of local arts and cultural projects this year. Funding decisions will be guided by our stated priorities: community engagement, local artists, youth education, accessibility, and creativity/innovation.

Priorities
Funding decisions will be guided by our stated priorities:
Community Engagement – especially intergenerational events (e.g., concerts, public art days, cultural festivals).
Local Artists & Voices – giving Granby-based creators opportunities to showcase their work.
Youth & Education – including in-school residencies, library workshops, and student-centered showcases.
Accessibility & Inclusion – events that are free or low-cost, ADA accessible, and welcoming to all residents.
Creativity & Innovation – interactive exhibits, technology-based projects, or playful, community-wide art initiatives.

FY26 Local Guidelines

Funding Ranges
Grants will typically range from $150 to $1,000, depending on the scope and impact of the project.
Projects that serve a broad audience or involve multiple community partners may be considered for higher awards.
Applicants are encouraged to seek additional funding sources if their project requires more than our maximum award.

Eligible Projects
We welcome proposals that meet one or more of the council’s stated priorities above.

Ineligible Expenses
Projects outside of Granby with no clear benefit to Granby residents.
Scholarships, general operating support, or requests for purely administrative costs.
Fundraising events or receptions.

Applicant Expectations
Applicants should clearly describe how their project meets one or more of the council’s priorities.

Applicants are responsible for getting the permission of the venue where the event will be held before applying for a grant.

Funded projects must acknowledge support from the Granby Cultural Council/Mass Cultural Council in publicity and materials.
Required forms must be submitted to the GCC at the conclusion of each funded project for reimbursement.
