Georgetown Cultural Council

The Georgetown Cultural Council (GCC) is a Town appointed group of volunteers who strive to bring creative arts, sciences and humanities to the citizens of Georgetown through their advocacy, leadership and vision. The GCC funds exemplary artists, arts organizations, and provides programs, events and services of public value that educate and engage all audiences in our community. The GCC provides access to the arts for people of all cultural backgrounds, economic status, sexual orientation, age and physical ability and ensures broad public access to the arts. We further believe in and maintain high standards of management and governance as directed by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and our Town’s Selectmen, which support the health and vibrancy of the arts community.

FY22 Allocation

FY22 Local Priorities

Georgetown Cultural Council would like to emphasize the importance of reaching out to our local venues, for example, if you propose the Georgetown Peabody Library for use, contact them to verify that your event would fit into any of their specific criteria. And include any correspondence in your Grant Application. This would strengthen your connection to our community and help in our decision making.

FY22 Local Guidelines

Georgetown Cultural Council strives to reflect the diverse population of Georgetown and seeks to provide access to and support activities and projects for the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences that are under-represented in our community. We encourage proposals that reach under-served populations and that have a collaborative element between cultural groups and organizations and serve an inter-generational audience.
