Chester Cultural Council

The Chester Cultural Council (CCC) is composed of community members committed to supporting and promoting cultural activities in Chester and the surrounding Hilltown’s. CCC funded grants support local arts and cultural programs, including exhibits, festivals, history-based projects, and programs that incorporate the arts, humanities, or sciences in Chester. These grants and programs serve community members of all ages, interests, and cultural backgrounds.

FY27 Local Priorities

The Chester Cultural Council prioritizes grants that enrich Chester and the surrounding Hilltown communities through accessible arts, culture, humanities, history, and science programming. Priority is given to proposals that clearly align with the following areas:

– Support local arts and cultural programs, including exhibits, festivals, concerts, plays, and related community events.

– Encourage programs that incorporate history, the arts, humanities, and sciences.

– Annual festivals and fairs, arts events (concerts, plays, exhibitions), historical talks and walks that combine cultural history with public engagement.

– Gatherings should encourage multi-generational attendance and participation, foster community cultural and social engagement and understand.

– Ensures grant funds have a positive impact on Chester’s and Hilltown communities’ cultural experiences and opportunities.

FY27 Local Guidelines

Council Guidelines

All grants are subject to the following conditions. Failure to comply may jeopardize payment of the grant award:

– Projects must demonstrate their relationship to Chester and the surrounding Hilltown’s.

– Applicant must be an authorized representative of the requesting organization.

– Projects must be completed within one year of the final written grant award notice approved locally and by the state.

– Events and activities must be held in physically accessible facilities.

– Payments are made on a direct grant basis. Grantees must complete and submit a signed Grant Agreement to CCC by the required deadline. The payment made directly to the grantee.

– At the completion of the program, grantees must submit the Final Report Form and event information sheet to CCC. Grantees must complete the final report for the funded period, non-reporting will prohibit future funding.

– All funding applications must be submitted through the Massachusetts Cultural Council website.

– In all published materials and announcements regarding activities supported by CCC funds, the sponsoring group or individual must acknowledge this support with a written and/or verbal credit statement or by using the MCC logo. The logo is available on the MCC website: www.massculturalcouncil.org. Credit is required by MCC and CCC. Failure to comply may jeopardize future funding.
