Brookfield Cultural Council

It is our primary endeavor to foster and promote creative, cultural, and educational growth for our community at large and for individuals in our community, and to strengthen our interpersonal bonds through inclusion.

We accept and assume that all people are doing their best at any given time, and that we are still learning and must meet other people where they are, with empathy and compassion. We understand that we can hold space for others without compromising our own boundaries.

Because we understand that humans are inherently social and cooperative by nature, we believe in social responsibility as opposed to strict individualism. We embrace and encourage cultural growth and exploration as a means of personal development and of strengthening and enriching our community.

We believe that diverse educational and experiential opportunities with regard to arts, sciences, and humanities promote health and success, individually and as a community.

We believe in the value of the past as a source of both tradition and education; we also believe in the value of cultural change and growth. We will embrace both as we work toward our goals of community enrichment.
