Boxford Cultural Council
The Boxford Cultural Council is a community organization supported through funding from Mass Cultural Council. The BCC is made up of community members who review, discuss and vote on grant applications submitted to us on an annual basis. We believe a strong presence of the arts, science, and humanities is essential to building a vibrant community and a thriving educational system. Our primary objective is to develop and fund projects that weave these elements into the fabric of our community. The BCC actively encourages local artisans, musicians, teachers, and school organizations to submit grants for consideration to the Cultural Council. We also look for engaging grant applications that help address BCC priorities that reflect the community’s interests, new, emerging and yet to be discovered.

$6,100
FY26 Local Priorities
Programs and projects that engage community members in the cultural arts and sciences are encouraged. Applications can also focus on the humanities through presentations, reenactments, exhibits, demonstrations, or projects focused on an aspect of history, social studies, philosophy, or literature.
Grants for cultural activities for youth, families, and/or adults of all ages are welcome. Cultural projects that help youth and adults connect with one another and contribute to Boxford cultural life are also encouraged.
Preference is given, but not limited to local applicants (“local” meaning Boxford residents or those in surrounding communities).
The proposed grant must directly serve Boxford residents. However, BCC has, on occasion, joined cultural councils of other towns to help fund larger exhibits, performances, festivals and programs designed for larger settings or multi-day events.
We welcome proposals that encourage learning, promote understanding, celebrate creativity, deepen joy and strengthen hope.
FY26 Local Guidelines
We welcome programs, events, performances, and ACTIVE experiences in the arts and culture for families, multi-age groups and gatherings of community members with shared interests or eagerness to learn new things.
If the grant application involves children/youth, it is recommended that the applicant contact the school, youth groups, town library, community center, faith organization, etc., to see if they want to collaborate and provide a venue. If so, include a letter from the hosting venue stating their interest and support for the program with your grant application.
If a venue is needed, please email BCC, and we will work with you to connect with a local venue or organization before the October 16th application deadline.
Applicants must credit the Boxford Cultural Council and Mass Cultural Council on ALL advertising and promotional materials. Grant applicants are responsible for all promotion for their program/projects/event with the collaborating venue or organization, (Library, School, Church, Council on Aging, Community Center, Youth Group, etc.)
