Bernardston Cultural Council
The Bernardston Cultural Council will consider all applications. Forms must be submitted online through www.mass-culture.org by the deadline of Oct. 15th.
To be considered we require the following;
A definite venue. The venue must be confirmed prior to submitting the grant request.
The date of the event or program must be confirmed and submitted with your online application.
If you are awarded a grant (partial or full), you are fully responsible for the creation and distribution of all marketing and publicity materials. All programs must be advertised properly.
We encourage all artists or persons to apply. It is important to be able to offer diverse programming in our town. We might not always be able to fully fund each application, but we try to consider as many as possible.
Due to the high amount of applications we receive each year, and to the limited funds we are able to provide, an applicant’s chances of receiving funding are increased when the grant amount requested is below $500.
The Massachusetts Cultural Council is excited to announce that the Local Cultural Council Program online application is now available. All applications will need to be submitted online at www.mass-culture.org.
Supplemental materials can be mailed to the town hall with the application information. If you need materials returned please include a self addressed stamped envelope and we will be happy to return materials to you. You can also arrange to pick-up materials at the Town Hall in Bernardston.
Please read local and State Guidelines carefully.
Massachusetts cultural funds are not to be used to replace existing public funds for programs in the arts and humanities.
We receive a large amount of grant requests and can only consider complete applications. We truly appreciate your cooperation.
Sincerely,
The Bernardston Cultural Council.

FY22 Local Priorities
The online grant application system is available at www.mass-culture.org. Please submit your application online.
The Bernardston Cultural Council gathers input from the community and develops funding priorities based on this feedback. This year the Bernardston Cultural Council will give priority to:
– Applicants who have secured a local venue, or can host a virtual event
– Projects that serve youth or the elderly
– Projects that focus on arts, culture and the humanities
In addition to the state criteria applications will be evaluated using the following review criteria:
– How well the program meets our local priorities
– Community support and involvement
– Evidence of track record and dedication of the applicant
– Ability to address the diverse cultural needs of a community’s underserved populations or support diverse forms of cultural activities
– Financial need
– Demonstrated planning
Online applications are strongly preferred. Exceptions can be made for those with no internet access.
The council also requires a hard copy of the reimbursement form with a wet signature to be mailed to the Bernardston Cultural Council, PO Box 504, Bernardston, MA 01337. Emailed reimbursements will not be accepted.
