FY22 Local Priorities
The Sturbridge Cultural Council gathers input from the community to help us determine funding priorities. For this year, the Sturbridge Cultural Council will give priority to:
? Projects/Programs that enrich the lives of Sturbridge residents
? Projects/Programs that encourage community involvement
? Projects/Programs that increase awareness of cultural diversity and inclusion
? Applicants who have secured a local venue and have a letter of support from the venue
In addition to the state criteria, applications will be evaluated using the following criteria:
? How well the program meets our local priorities
? Ability to address the needs of a specific population in Sturbridge, or support forms of cultural activities for all residents Financial need
? Demonstrated planning which includes:
? A clear objective
? Support from a local venue
? Tentative date(s) or timeline
FY22 Local Guidelines
A. Generally, all applications require a local contact. Mass mailings lacking a liaison with a local organization, group or school will be rejected. Please contact local venues such as the Senior Center, Library, Rec department, or School on your own. Once contact is made and a date agreed upon, include letter from liaison with application.
B. Our committee votes to approve applications on a calendar year basis. Therefore, going forward, when we review in November 2021 we will only consider applications that will occur between 1/1/22 and 12/31/22. Please plan accordingly when submitting applications.
C. Regarding recurring applicants….The Sturbridge Cultural Council would like to see detailed information. When awarding funds the Council likes to see how this is affecting the Sturbridge population specifically, such as population figures, resident’s needs, benefits, and also the results of the year’s program, all specific to the Sturbridge population. Please include such data in your application process. We anticipate future grants being harder to obtain and we may need to screen the process more tightly. We look forward to the continued success of your program and the benefits it will provide the Sturbridge community.
Please contact council chair with questions. We are here to assist you. Good luck!!
