Hardwick-New Braintree Cultural Council
The Hardwick/New Braintree Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to the Hardwick/New Braintree Cultural Council.

FY24 Local Priorities
The Council is committed to funding a diverse cross-section of activities. We support a variety of art forms, science and the humanities that serve a broad population such as youth, disabled veterans, elderly, adults, and low income.
• Grant applicants must be from Massachusetts and preference is shown to those grantees from Hardwick and New Braintree;
• The Council must be informed ASAP if you need to postpone the date of your event to a new date, time, or place;
• The venue must be physically accessible;
• Children are our largest group and we are always looking for more and different events for them to enjoy;
• Applicants must have a Local Sponsor and a date and time for your event, otherwise your approval will be conditional;
• Grant proposals should show other sources of funding so the project is not dependent
solely on Council funding.
• All published material and announcements regarding programs supported by the Hardwick-New Braintree Cultural Council must include the credit statement:
This program was supported in part by a grant from the Hardwick-New Braintree Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural
Council (MCC), a state agency,” and needs to include the MCC logo found on the MCC website.
Requests for extensions beyond the grant period will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted in writing. The Council will review and vote on the request and notify applicants in writing of its decision.
