Gosnold Cultural Council

The Cultural Council for the Town of Gosnold is the Gosnold/Cuttyhunk Cultural Council. Our mission is to create, preserve and promote culture–through the arts , sciences, and humanities– with grants to artists and others from our island community, and with grants to bring artists and others to our island community. In evaluating grant requests, we aim to promote programs that will meet the interests of our community which include for example (though not limited to) musical and dramatic performances, nature and environmental awareness, art practice and appreciation (including watercolor classes and our annual Plein Air painting festival), and intergenerational activities (like square dancing).

FY25 Local Guidelines

For all applicants, transportation and housing must be a consideration since we are an island. Daily ferry service is out of New Bedford Massachusetts (9:00 am to island and 3:00 pm departure on most days during the summer and a more limited ferry service on shoulder seasons). Overnight accommodations are limited, so please keep this in mind. The Council will make every effort to help defray transportation and housing costs when making grant decisions.
