Eastham Cultural Council
The Eastham Cultural Council strives to promote excellence, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences, to improve the quality and enjoyment of life for Eastham residents.
The Eastham Cultural Council is responsible for the distribution of Commonwealth grant monies for arts-related projects (art, music, theater, dance, extracurricular education, etc.) especially those projects focused on children, which are submitted by local non-profit organizations and individual artists, performers, social service groups, etc.
The Eastham Cultural Council also sponsors the annual ‘Hands on the Arts Festival’ in June at the Windmill Green in Eastham, It provides 2 days of children’s hands-on art activities, many run by established local artists; and music, dance, puppetry and other performances, and a juried arts and crafts show. The Festival is free to all and managed by dedicated volunteers from the community.

The mission of the Eastham Cultural Council is to promote excellence, education and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences, to improve the quality of life for all Eastham residents. The Council pursues this mission by hosting community events, providing grants to local artists and nonprofits, and advocating for the arts. It serves as a community catalyst for projects and collaborations that address cultural needs.
FY25 Local Guidelines
While the council grants monies to a variety of non-profit organizations and individuals who promote the arts and sciences in Eastham, we are particularly interested in activities that target children. With our limited funding we often will provide partial funds for grant seekers who have projects that target Eastham and surrounding towns. We are more likely to give more funding to projects that take place in Eastham. We do not fund state-wide programs unless their is some direct local connection.
