Chatham Cultural Council
The Chatham Cultural Council helps enrich the cultural life of Chatham and the broader Cape Cod community through support of programs, events, and performances that foster creativity, encourage critical thinking, and strengthen community connections.
The core belief of the organization is that bringing culture to our communities elevates local quality of life, educates our community, and drives creative economy growth.

FY27 Allocation
$5,700
FY27 Local Priorities
• Applications from resident Chatham artists, performers, and educators in our regional school system will be prioritized. Programs that are a collaboration between Chatham-based organizations will be viewed especially favorably.
• Applications for Chatham-based programs will be prioritized, though initiatives and artists from across the Cape will be considered.
• Programs/events for families (mixed ages), adults and seniors will be prioritized. Programs that blend age groups or other demographics will be viewed especially favorably.
• Music, Education, and Theater programs/events will be prioritized. Jazz or acoustical music programs are of special interest. Programs that blend genres and/or deliver educational messages through music and/or theater will be viewed especially favorably, as will educational programs that focus on conservation, local history or the Cape Cod ecosystem.
• Programs/events by and for historically under-served communities including Native American, BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color), people with disabilities, and low-income community members will be considered priorities.
FY27 Local Guidelines
• The FY27 grant cycle is for programs/events occurring 12/31/26 through 12/31/27. Applications for events taking place outside that timeframe will not be considered.
• Applications must meet Mass Cultural Council eligibility criteria (see: https://massculturalcouncil.org/communities/local-cultural-council-program/application-process/ ).
• Grant applicants must have secured a program venue prior to applying. “Somewhere in Chatham,” will not be considered a secured venue.
• Indoor venues that are not ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant will not be considered. [Reminder to applicants that Mass Cultural Council guidelines state that there must be reasonable accommodation made to provide an accessible environment.]
• Program/event date does not have to be firm at the time of application. However, purpose and target audience do need to be clear.
• Submitting a letter of recommendation from your secured venue and/or sponsoring organization will add extra weight to your application.
• Grant requests over $2,000.00 will not be considered.
• Repeat applicants may be more favorably viewed if application notes changes from previous applications
• Grant applications for programs/events covered by the Town of Chatham budget will not be considered.
