FY23 Allocation
$6,800
FY23 Local Priorities
Proposals are evaluated by the following criteria:
Benefit to the community
Quality of the activity
Clarity of the proposal evidence of planning
Previous program success of the sponsoring group
In person events preferred
The Council encourages new and innovative programs. Repetitive programs will be carefully reviewed and should include other sources of support to show the project is not dependent solely on Council funding. Funding is more likely when an application is submitted with a town sponsor.
FY23 Local Guidelines
Application forms are available online where applicants must complete the form and submit it online by October 17, 2022. The Berkley Public Library offers access to the internet and will be available to help access the online application during regular library hours. Note: PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Programs must be specifically described with the names, artist fees and qualifications of the individual leading the activity. Supporting documentation is optional and is not to exceed three pages. If submitting more than one application, please SUBMIT A PRIORITIZED LIST VIA EMAIL TO THE COUNCIL (berkleyculturalcouncil@gmail.com).
All events must be held at physically accessible facilities. Events can also be held virtually but in person events are preferred.
School related proposals must be for enrichment activities and not for programs, supplies or salaries that should be part of the school budget.
Disapproved grant recipients will receive their notifications approximately two months after the October deadline. Approximately three months after the October deadline, the Berkley Cultural Council will confirm funding with successful applicants.
Applicants have one year from the date of final approval to complete their project and submit the request for reimbursement. Extensions may be requested in writing but are not automatically granted.
