Spotlight Series: Commonwealth Corporation – Youth & Justice
Event Date 01.29.2026
Time 11am
Join us for this next installation in the Spotlight Series, as we host Commonwealth Corporation (CommCorp) for a 2-part series, where they’ll provide an overview of services they offer that may be of interest to the cultural sector.
CommCorp is a quasi-public agency responsible for administering and delivering a wide range of publicly and and privately funded programs. They ensure that Massachusetts businesses have access to a pipeline of highly skilled workers and that youth and adults in Massachusetts have pathways to good jobs in the knowledge economy.
Commonwealth Corporation’s Youth & Justice (YnJ) portfolio sits at the intersection of workforce development and mission-driven impact. Their mission is to expand high-quality employment pathways for young people and adults whose talents are often overlooked, particularly those with disabilities, court involvement, incarceration histories, or other structural barriers to accessing economic opportunity.
Led by Aadil Z. Sulaiman, Vice President of Youth & Justice Programs, the portfolio manages five statewide initiatives, including YouthWorks, the Re-Entry Workforce Development Grants, the Young Adults with Disabilities Employment Program, the Safe and Successful Youth Initiative (SSYI), and employment services for the Department of Youth Services (DYS). Across these programs, the goal is consistent: strengthen local capacity and support the delivery of evidence-based workforce training. This webinar will cover the impact of these programs and opportunities for training providers and nonprofit organizations to partner with Commonwealth Corporation and their grantees in the areas of training, awareness building, and funding.
