Degrees of Change: Rethinking Creative Education and Career Outcomes

Event Date 10.31.2025

Time: 9:30am-2:30pm

The creative sector in Massachusetts generates more than $29 billion in revenue and represents more than 4% of the Massachusetts economy, yet the majority of graduates of higher education arts-focused programs are earning below the MIT living wage and struggling to develop sustainable careers in their field.

Mass Cultural Council and Boston University’s College of Fine Arts host a summit that seeks to address these challenges by creating a new vision for arts graduates.

This dynamic half-day convening is the first in a two-part series. Leaders from the public and private sector invested in improving graduate outcomes will convene for conversations focused on developing a shared vision for stronger business acumen and political advocacy skills for students. Participants will address an acute and expanding area of need for the creative sector and the Massachusetts workforce at a critical time.
