Creative Space DNA: Adaptive Reuses of Houses of Worship

Join Mass Cultural Council and the ArtStaysHere Coalition for the next Creative Space Development Network Accelerator (DNA) online discussion for those who are developing, preserving, operating, and advocating for a healthier creative space ecosystem across Massachusetts. Each session will focus on a particular aspect of creative space preservation and development, and we’ll make sure there’s time for questions and discussion beyond the featured subject. Our goal is to provide an open and dynamic network of actively engaged space operators and advocates.
Houses of worship can be re-imagined as creative spaces for the arts while still accommodating the congregation’s needs. In this session we’ll hear from practitioners who have pioneered this dual model of use with the arts organization now in the lead operating position and the congregation partially or fully relieved of the stewardship of the building. Each of our presenters participated in a case study on the topic to be released before the session.
