Webinar
Card to Culture: Culture of Care
Event Date 10.05.2026
Time 11am
You mean well. Now what?
What stands between a welcoming policy for cultural institutions and venues and a welcoming experience for visitors using Card to Culture’s discounts is the intention-action gap: the space where unconscious assumptions, untrained staff, and unexamined protocols quietly undermine the access organizations participating in Card to Culture have committed to provide.
Mass Cultural Council is partnering with Promoting Good for this webinar, which will guide organizational leaders through the real-world dynamics that shape how Card to Culture visitors experience access and belonging at cultural institutions and venues, and how organizations and their staff can provide a fair and respectful welcome to visitors who are using Card to Culture discounts.
This session will:
- Illuminate the challenges Card to Culture participating organizations most commonly encounter, including assumptions made at the point of entry, in customer interactions, and in institutional culture more broadly.
- Engage attendees in guided scenarios that surface moments where good intentions produce poor outcomes and build the muscle to course-correct in real time.
- Offer useful tips in developing Card to Culture organizational protocols: practical, staff-level commitments that translate Card to Culture’s values into consistent, dignified experiences for every visitor.
- Each workshop participant will leave with a powerful and usable toolkit to support your organization in serving Card to Culture visitors with care.
Using scenario-based learning anchored in Promoting Good’s Equity Pause®, their proprietary behavior and process change framework, participants leave with the tools to be able to move from awareness to action.
