In this session, we will cover: Board members can better serve nonprofits when they are well-versed in financial management and understand their roles as stewards. This webinar reviews how boards can help guide nonprofits by thinking big-picture in identifying strengths, gaps, opportunities, and risks; understanding financial health and performance; and supporting an organization through times of crisis.

Content Expert: Michael Kass

Michael Kass is a consultant with Nonprofit Finance Fund and the Founder of Story & Spirit, a consulting and coaching practice dedicated to helping individuals and organizations reconnect with and harness the power of their stories to create change. Over the past 25 years, he has worked in a wide range of capacities in the nonprofit sector, from grant writing and fundraising to executive management, program evaluation, and management consulting. Michael’s workshops on organizational and ethical storytelling have been featured at events hosted by Center for Nonprofit Management, The Nonprofit Partnership, Association of Fundraising Professionals, SOCAP, United Way Los Angeles, Annennberg Alchemy Plus, Civic Hall New York, and many others. As the pandemic unfolded in 2020, he partnered with Conveners.org to create a certification course in Virtual Convenings that has reached social impact professionals all over the world. Michael is an International Coach Federation certified Executive Coach, a certified meditation instructor, and likes brownies perhaps a little too much.
