Cultural Districts Check-In: Mapping with MAPC

Time 10:30am-12pm

This Cultural District Check-In will feature partners from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC). Stephen Larrick, MAPC’s Digital Services Manager, will lead a walkthrough on how to use Google My Maps to map Cultural District boundaries and assets, addressing the mappable footprint requirement for recertifying districts. No prior experience is necessary. Topics will include creating a map, drawing district boundaries, inventorying cultural assets, and adding point markers or importing spreadsheet data. MAPC will also provide supporting instructional materials and tutorials for future reference.

This virtual meeting is for currently-designated Cultural Districts. People and organizations affiliated with prospective Cultural Districts should first attend the info session on July 14 to learn more about the program.
