Cultural Facilities Fund Delivers $8.7M for Capital Improvements

Each month Mass Cultural Council shares a round-up of grants, trainings, technical assistance resources, and opportunities for cultural organizations (a companion to our Useful Links page). This list is not meant to be exhaustive but a glimpse of what is on offer in the coming weeks. (We also publish a weekly Artist Opportunities listing.)
ETC is now accepting applications for all three of their grant programs: Performing Arts Funding Grant Program, Community Betterment Funding Grant Program, and Light the Way Equipment Grant Program. Deadlines: June 2026.
The Women Working Wonders Fund offers five grants of up to $15,000 to programs that support nonprofit programs that empower women and girls to create positive community change in one or more of these areas: Assisting women in transition, providing leadership development and enhancing environments that benefit women and girls. Deadline: June 15, 2026.
Greater Worcester Community Foundation’s Community Grant Program offers funding of nearly $2 million each year to support projects, programs, and general operating needs across five strategic focus areas: arts and creativity, basic needs, economic opportunity, health and well-being, and youth development. Deadline: June 24, 2026.
Anthony F. Cordeiro Charitable Foundation provide funds to nonprofit organizations in southeastern Massachusetts and selected areas of Rhode Island. The grant supports efforts to enhance opportunities for health & mental services, food, and shelter. Deadline: June 30, 2026.
The Department of Agriculture’s Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program offers loans and grants to Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) to support training and technical assistance for microloan borrowers and small entrepreneurs. Eligible applicants include domestic organizations that are nonprofit entities, tribes, or public institutions of higher education. Applications will only be accepted from eligible MDOs. Deadline: June 30, 2026.
National Endowment for the Arts’ Grants for Arts Projects are available for organizations. Deadline: July 9, 2026.
The Division of Conservation Services is offering a Local Acquisitions for Natural Diversity (LAND) grant. Municipal conservation and agricultural commissions from communities with up-to-date Open Space and Recreation Plans can apply for a LAND grant to acquire interests in land that will be used for conservation and passive recreation purposes. Deadline: July 9, 2026.
Nathan Cummings Foundation supports new, innovative, and exploratory work advancing racial, economic, and environmental justice. Letters of Inquiry (LOI) are accepted year-round.
Fidelity Foundation offers grants in Capital Investments, Planning Initiatives, and Technology Projects for nonprofit organizations in Boston with budgets over $1 million in their focus funding areas (Arts & Culture, Conservation, Education, Health, Social & Economic Mobility). To begin the application process, please submit a letter of inquiry.
Join Mass Cultural Council on June 25, 2026 at 11am for a virtual celebration of our sector and this year’s public investments made in arts and culture. All grant recipients, Local Cultural Council and Tribal Cultural Council members, representatives from Cultural Districts, and other stakeholders from the cultural sector are invited to attend! We’re also celebrating grantees from Nantucket (10:30am) and Martha’s Vineyard (3:30pm) on June 15, 2026.
Mass Cultural Council and ArtStaysHere Coalition’s next Creative Space Development Network Accelerator (DNA) online discussion for those who are developing, operating, and advocating for a healthier creative space ecosystem across the state is June 26, 2026 at 12pm.
Register for the National Guild for Community Arts Education’s Navigating the Tension Between Money and Mission: with Lecolion Washington & Meghan Jasani. Many arts leaders enter this work to advance the mission—then quickly discover they are also responsible for running complex organizations, often without dedicated finance infrastructure. This online session explores practical frameworks for understanding surpluses, operating and planned deficits, and strengthening financial conversations with boards and leadership teams. Participants will leave with tools for clearer financial storytelling, stronger governance dialogue, and more confident decision-making in support of mission sustainability. June 10, 2026 at 1pm.
The Public Art Impact Convening, hosted by New England Foundation for the Arts on June 11, 2026 in New Bedford, MA, invites public art makers, arts administrators, advocates, and funders for a day of connection, learning, and reflection. There will be opportunities to connect along with spotlighting and celebrating of the powerful work of their grantees as they share preliminary findings from NEFA’s Public Art Impact Assessment and the ripple effects of NEFA’s public art investments in Massachusetts and the New England region from 2020-2025. FREE to attend, but registration is required. Register by June 5, 2026.
MASSCreative’s Creative Sector Summit brings together artists, educators, advocates, and public officials featuring panels and workshops that support community organizing, coalition building, and advocacy within the creative sector. June 12, 2026 at 10:30am.
Bring exciting and dynamic arts programming to students with disabilities PreK-12 – become an Access/VSA Program Site. The Office of Accessibility and VSA seek US arts, education, and cultural organizations to provide accessible, arts-based education experiences to students with disabilities. US organizations are invited to submit proposals to implement Access/VSA Programs. Contract term: Oct. 1, 2026 – Sept. 30, 2027. Deadline: June 5, 2026
