Each month Mass Cultural Council shares a round-up of grants, trainings, technical assistance resources, and opportunities for cultural organizations (a companion to our Useful Links page). This list is not meant to be exhaustive but a glimpse of what is on offer in the coming weeks. (We also publish a weekly Artist Opportunities listing.)
Funding
Klarman Family Foundation’sCommunity Capital Fund provides funding to support the development, improvement, or ownership of physical assets. This funding initiative aims to counter disparities in access to funding and prioritizes organizations operating in the Boston neighborhoods of Dorchester, East Boston, Mattapan, and Roxbury, as well as the cities of Brockton, Lynn, and Springfield. First Stage Application Deadline: June 13, 2025.
MassDevelopment’sBiz-M-Power Matching Grant Program funds businesses with fewer than 20 employees and no more than $2.5 million in revenues. Biz-M-Power makes available matching grants to growth-oriented qualifying businesses. Deadline: June 15, 2025.
Department of Agriculture’sFarmers Market Promotion Program funds projects that develop, coordinate, and expand direct producer-to-consumer markets to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products. The program focuses on:
Supporting and promoting domestic direct producer-to-consumer marketing such as farmers markets, roadside stands, agritourism activities, community-supported agriculture (CSA) programs, or online sales
Encouraging the development of value-added agricultural products
Developing marketing strategies for producers of local food and value-added products
Facilitating regional food chain coordination development
Promoting new business opportunities and marketing strategies to reduce on-farm food waste
Responding to changing technology needs in direct producer-to-consumer marketing
Covering expenses related to costs incurred in obtaining food safety certification and improvements to food safety practices and equipment.
Awards range from $50,000 to $500,000. Deadline: June 27, 2025.
Levitt Foundation is accepting applications for multi-year, $120KLevitt Music Series Grants, which are open to U.S.-based nonprofits to activate underused public spaces through free outdoor concerts in towns and cities across America. Deadline: June 30, 2025 at 8pm.
Mass Office on Travel & Tourism’sDestination Development capital grant program is open. $6 million available in FY26 for nonprofit and municipal applicants to expand, construct, restore, or renovate Massachusetts tourism destinations and attractions. Projects located within a designated Cultural District may receive priority consideration. Deadline: July 9, 2025 at 3pm.
Request for Proposals for the Legacy Fund for Boston’s2025 grant round are being accepted. The application opens by June 6, 2025. Info session: July 23, 2025. LOI deadline: Sept. 1, 2025.
The Henderson Foundation’sgrants provide support for projects focused on the enhancement of the appearance and preservation of outdoor elements in the City of Boston. The Foundation encourages applications for projects in all neighborhoods of Boston that concern parks, city streets, buildings, monuments, and architectural and sculptural works. Info session: Sept. 9, 2025. Deadline: Oct. 3, 2025.
MASSCreative’sCreative Sector Summit is an annual convening of cultural thought leaders, artists, creatives, policy advocates, educators, culture bearers, arts administrators, teaching artists, and public officials. Choose from 16 participatory workshops to strengthen the impact and broaden the reach of the arts and cultural sector across the Commonwealth. June 6, 2025 from 10am-5pm at Northampton Center for the Arts.
Tech Impact is hosting Effective Prompt Engineering for Nonprofits, a session to equip nonprofits with practical strategies to enhance your their work using AI. Cost: $75. June 10, 2025 from 1-2:30pm.
Community Foundation for MetroWest and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council invite you to join them for listening sessions that will help them understand, strengthen, and support the arts and culture communities of MetroWest. June 10 and 12, 2025.
Grantmakers in the Arts is hosting a Capitalization and Nonprofit Financial Health Workshop online on June 11, 2025 from 1-4pm. The workshop will update grantmakers and organizations on the financial health of the nation’s nonprofit cultural organizations, with Rebecca Thomas & Associates, and advice and counsel from Sage Crump. Cost: Varies by budget size.

Massachusetts Seal, Flag, and Motto Advisory Commission is actively seeking public submissions to reimagine our state’s official symbols. They invite all residents, artists, historians, educators, students, and community members of all ages, to participate. Deadline: June 18, 2025.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy has launched a new Podcast, Nonprofits Now: Leading Today, which showcases how Nonprofit leaders solve problems, there have so far been two episodes, released every other Tuesday.
