Strattman Design has produced the majority of the world’s museum-quality plasma globes for over 30 years. These globes are made from strong, thick-walled borosilicate glass and filled with high purity gas mixtures.
Our new brilliantly glowing bright blue Plasma Tubes are one of the brightest plasma displays made. Plasma Tubes are available in a wide range of lengths and diameters. The examples in this video are 8” in diameter and 6 feet tall.
Glowing lightning display inside a handcrafted Crackle Tube. This borosilicate glass electronic tube is filled with an inert gas mixture and thousands of shards of glass tubing or phosphor-coated beads, producing a crackling colored lightning effect!
Named after the famous 18th century French physician Franz Mesmer, these glass tubes were inspired by Mesmerism, considered the intellectual precursor of modern hypnosis. The moving, interactive plasma within the glass is hypnotic and "mesmerizing!"
The “Nixie Rex," developed by Wayne Strattman, is the largest Nixie clock in the world, featuring six fully functional handmade 18” tall glass Nixie vacuum tubes.
The PlasmaBot, made by Strattman Design, is a fully articulated seven foot tall lighted glass plasma marionette. It was exhibited at the World Maker Faire in 2015 and received a Blue Ribbon and Top In Show prize.
